scan of the circuit board ^ “Vessel for 10 suns” is a name of a circuit board designed as an appendix - dongle - for found synthesizer organ (Yamaha sk-20) to be able to temporarily host solar electronic bugs (parent project >> Electronic Entomology) in it’s own body. Keyboard is modified and converted to be able to take solar electronic bugs’ tiny pulses as an input and then bugs can collectively create musical composition. Musical composition is specific to the collections of up to ten bugs participated in particular performance or installation. Sculpture is made up of 8 different overlapping parts that creates a temporary shrine structure which is annotated in anatomical title image below.
Vessel for 10 suns (太陽の十の器）とは捨てられていた電子オルガン（Yamaha sk-20) にドングル（外部装置）として移植された回路基板の名前です。ドングルは電子オルガンが自らの体で電子昆虫という寄生虫達を宿主としてシステムの中に受け入れられるようにする仲介臓器です。電子オルガンはドングルによって電子昆虫の放つ小さなパルスを聞くことができ、指定された鍵盤をショートさせて音を奏でます。十の虫を臨時で寄生させることができ、それぞれが太陽の光が届くままに自らのペースで音を出し全員で即興の曲を夕暮れまで弾き続けます。インストレーションやパフォーマンスで奏でられる即興の曲は参加した十の虫の種類によって毎回変わります。この作品の身体は八つの重なり合ったパーツがあり墓のような外見のストラクチャーを構成します。以下の図は解剖学的タイトル図として作品のパーツを表現しています。
